I have been using up some odd cottons I found and thought that snowflakes would be the way to go. In true snowflake fashion each one is individual and based on a hexagon. I am in the process of trying to makre them ridged. Like always feedback would be great. Each year group is given a song to learn and those that want to get to sing in the show. All the pupils are involved in someway, from ticket production and sale through to back stage work. I was lucky that I already had an outfit that I could alter for Jason but I had to make Lewis' from scratch. The school also asked that the costumes were dirty! So I clean the house with them then put food dye onto the trousers. Here is the result.<br /><br /><div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyb7aS4SJyj0EEr8xu5AelHr9gFgJ5NlOigKYyV6gSDu9CqffYRKqftLkIwFtMA-l7WC4sAq1Bhe2QBkmGEog8Z6b25RlRNPOpqL0hHVZZZAOqvSZKHH96BLIA1yJ_fdUYDLkXN8d1wiyi/s200/SDC11973.JPG" style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 134px; height: 200px;" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5618165553698746082" /></div><div><br /></div><div>Did your Gran or possibly even your mum have one of those plastic dolls that wore a large knitted or crocheted dress that was used to cover a spare toilet roll? The total cost of entry for us ( me and the three boys) was £11, which it turned out to be good value for money. The funfair was provided free of charge and we all know how expensive they can be. There were various display teams from the re-enactment of being press gang through to dog display teams. All the services were represented, the boys enjoyed having a look round a chinook and tried on helmets, I found it a little disturbing though when they said that it could hold 24 stretchers brings it home really as to what these people do for us all.<div> Oscar got to watch the marchers as he call them which to you and me is a marching band so he was happy. After a break for food more rides in the funfair and then a go at being winched up into a helicopter. </div><div> We were really lucky with the weather as the sun broke through and it was glorious. We never got to see half the stuff that was going on like the gun crews, or all the stalls that were raising funds. We are already planning to go back next year but this time armed with chairs, food and lots of change so the kids can soak the sailor and take part in the tombola. I think that this was real value for money and if anyone has the chance to go they should for no other reason then its a really good day out. Oh yes and there are lots of lovely uniformed bods to look at!!!</div></div>juliejdavieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16594068408692927100noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1443207871736708811.post-78117668112335166392011-06-01T12:52:00.000-07:002011-06-01T12:58:55.566-07:00<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj378s5n0lJ4r5AhDBt8OO0akWoL4Up7i9Qic6-LaEIgr2SF56sWAmAcxoZjTW92_m_xXOwfFGIo2XA_XFNwQiQ3qMcbeXz5AL-1k02R_lLkH1XY1pJTZpsewW0QXItsWuxFnICTiIf15Qn/s1600/SDC11951.JPG" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 134px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj378s5n0lJ4r5AhDBt8OO0akWoL4Up7i9Qic6-LaEIgr2SF56sWAmAcxoZjTW92_m_xXOwfFGIo2XA_XFNwQiQ3qMcbeXz5AL-1k02R_lLkH1XY1pJTZpsewW0QXItsWuxFnICTiIf15Qn/s200/SDC11951.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5613342899418737570" /></a><br />Have had a very busy weekend entertaining the olds! We all had a lovely time though. Whilst here we took them to see the USS George Bush which was visiting the south, she was anchored in Stokes Bay. It was something to see. There were about 70 planes on the deck and just appeared as a massive ship in the Solent, the land behind it is the Isle of Wight what is really hard here is to get a scale to show just how big the ship is.juliejdavieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16594068408692927100noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1443207871736708811.post-929253587377169132011-05-27T11:07:00.000-07:002011-05-27T11:08:16.073-07:00British MuseumI went with 90 school kids and other staff to see the Egyptian exhibition am way to knacked to go into it today but will tomorrow!juliejdavieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16594068408692927100noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1443207871736708811.post-45239148293496395532011-05-26T12:12:00.001-07:002011-05-26T12:18:12.748-07:00I HAVE RETURNED!!As it says I am back!<div>Been too long, things have changed but not a lot. Unfortunately last weekend Jason went down with chicken pox so he missed his last few days of school. It's true what they say about being two weeks apart Lewis came down with three weeks ago(hence the post about Timmy) Then like I said a week ago Jason work up with it!. So most of my time has been spent indoors looking after them all. </div><div> Lewis was lucky enough to return to <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">pre</span> school in time for his leaving presentation. It hard to believe that he starts school in September and he's not even 4 yet! that's the trouble with having summer babies they always seem so young to start school but there always has to be an eldest and a youngest.</div><div>Here he is having received his certificate.</div><div></div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUdMtFDi7Utv_rvqiaWDGW5Jn1F7ZnDsx0zclciFd7ERm0T7H5DdWFm1tO49UahxaxMqikH3RxJ0QGMretcTMHJTjJCNKcwDfNJDXMa2GyfOBW_cdMFuu1MWuNBX04caAOHIZLwEBMYORb/s1600-h/SDC10576.JPG"></a></div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHz5eJnlf1DD0SyXOvJisJsWlTqTrrynwys045GNqGH3p2nPu1Oxe_VUUvFSHHrq6R6bCadD23us5vVR74wBFZVJ4JlU-JjSzzJZEqAtKkAspa4RVm0wNj-_hoG8KrGTv38P86o6XSlFoV/s1600-h/SDC10573.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 150px; HEIGHT: 200px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5362465661916899650" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHz5eJnlf1DD0SyXOvJisJsWlTqTrrynwys045GNqGH3p2nPu1Oxe_VUUvFSHHrq6R6bCadD23us5vVR74wBFZVJ4JlU-JjSzzJZEqAtKkAspa4RVm0wNj-_hoG8KrGTv38P86o6XSlFoV/s200/SDC10573.JPG" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUdMtFDi7Utv_rvqiaWDGW5Jn1F7ZnDsx0zclciFd7ERm0T7H5DdWFm1tO49UahxaxMqikH3RxJ0QGMretcTMHJTjJCNKcwDfNJDXMa2GyfOBW_cdMFuu1MWuNBX04caAOHIZLwEBMYORb/s1600-h/SDC10576.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 150px; HEIGHT: 200px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5362465738964215666" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUdMtFDi7Utv_rvqiaWDGW5Jn1F7ZnDsx0zclciFd7ERm0T7H5DdWFm1tO49UahxaxMqikH3RxJ0QGMretcTMHJTjJCNKcwDfNJDXMa2GyfOBW_cdMFuu1MWuNBX04caAOHIZLwEBMYORb/s200/SDC10576.JPG" /></a></div><div></div><br /><div>Having made Timmy for Lewis I thought that Jason might like some clothes for action man (I don't know about you but I can't cope with naked bodies about the place!!). Even the kids are just lying about I hate to say it but we could really do with a storm to clear the air. I can't have my front room windows open at the moment, nothing to do with bugs <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">hay fever</span> etc, more to do with <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">inquisitive</span> children. Oscar my baby (well 15 month old) decided to move the foot stool across the room and use it to climb up onto the radiator and then onto the window sill. Whats wrong with thatIhear you cry, nothing except that the window was open he had one foot inside and one out oh yes and there is about an eight foot drop down into the garden!<br /> Other than that not to much to report from the south coast. Jason will be performing in Joseph and his amazing technicolour <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">dream coat</span> next week. Don't think much learning has gone on at school this week other than <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">rehearsals</span>. I have completely lost all interest in crafting just can't seem to gather up any enthusiasm and when something is made I think its a load of old pants.<br /> Going to do the washing up and a few other chores beforeI think about having a cup of tea.juliejdavieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16594068408692927100noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1443207871736708811.post-13116366413814333162009-06-18T11:28:00.000-07:002009-06-18T11:42:39.444-07:00The new bathroomWell here they are as promised the photos of the new bathroom (thanks to my dad). Most things are still in the same place as before except that i've had the bath rotated 180 degrees so that the taps are now against a wall instead of being in the middle of the room. All that is left to do is the flooring and the bits and bobs to house stuff. I think this is a million if not more times better than we had before what do you think?<br /><div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoW9r5tYjnou4Jv0-d4tuGtTp8g8JK2tZM1Q7BqYD9jVcMlqdc-8RXIzG-NYeDwrZ9micWC5RwbxWaDTuHfcLgCIs4W_YPGqqDRVKDbHjrKMztE0XJbD3vDuWK2rTkzvFqsoNm4PGIIvCy/s1600-h/SDC10495.JPG"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoW9r5tYjnou4Jv0-d4tuGtTp8g8JK2tZM1Q7BqYD9jVcMlqdc-8RXIzG-NYeDwrZ9micWC5RwbxWaDTuHfcLgCIs4W_YPGqqDRVKDbHjrKMztE0XJbD3vDuWK2rTkzvFqsoNm4PGIIvCy/s160/SDC10495.JPG" border="0" /></a> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3JfyjzIn45h-JFjhGkR1k67lBWrGIgW2qmTY2LELII-eK6cqURsHUQMmVcTh5t_ZCHHT7O9uvJBNWWCrVZ0Lde7sMrJf_hdYTkXbgY4x6Jd1RpSIK4wruuZCa0By7YzW9OjGZHXKgubZA/s1600-h/SDC10497.JPG"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3JfyjzIn45h-JFjhGkR1k67lBWrGIgW2qmTY2LELII-eK6cqURsHUQMmVcTh5t_ZCHHT7O9uvJBNWWCrVZ0Lde7sMrJf_hdYTkXbgY4x6Jd1RpSIK4wruuZCa0By7YzW9OjGZHXKgubZA/s160/SDC10497.JPG" border="0" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0fAHrV3j36moNrnycmfYIfVX4X6uze9F4aX6CRQ3F33pCVRRXGYuKV6QPXBnYFe750m9PgwTgQtZMOJWCYMS0Ebf6ScgDt0VLDzkpJsR4MecmsfNerqAyyWE6TWfF31PU7UMAqnJvjftn/s1600-h/SDC10498.JPG"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0fAHrV3j36moNrnycmfYIfVX4X6uze9F4aX6CRQ3F33pCVRRXGYuKV6QPXBnYFe750m9PgwTgQtZMOJWCYMS0Ebf6ScgDt0VLDzkpJsR4MecmsfNerqAyyWE6TWfF31PU7UMAqnJvjftn/s160/SDC10498.JPG" border="0" /></a> </div><div><br /> I've recently come to the conclusion that there is something seriously wrong with my family. </div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDKc5Vb2cOAwhyky9Jilfg1mnkok8YN6fZZMUUTDaTy4pgplT0kZXTpBbgIdt0gahNpr9IYL5mcy3ncipyS4muGD8sIbabcZVgKmB3k81gKPB8_xAvHVM-E0WQzlGAUHAuUBORUfm7_i2_/s1600-h/SDC10499-1.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5348737895158490610" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 150px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 200px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDKc5Vb2cOAwhyky9Jilfg1mnkok8YN6fZZMUUTDaTy4pgplT0kZXTpBbgIdt0gahNpr9IYL5mcy3ncipyS4muGD8sIbabcZVgKmB3k81gKPB8_xAvHVM-E0WQzlGAUHAuUBORUfm7_i2_/s200/SDC10499-1.JPG" border="0" /></a></div><div>I can remember as a child empty out the wash basket, which was green and plastic and cone shaped, putting it on my head and wandering about pretending to be a dalek by saying exterminate.<em> </em>I then discovered Oscar walking around the house woth the recycling basket on his head! We are currently in the middle of updating and revamping our bathroom well when a I say we I actually mean my dad whilst mum, the boys and I keep out of the way!<br /><div><div>As you can see from the pics the bathroom isn't the world's largest but it suits us. The best way of describing it was a white suite with black tiles half way up three of the wa<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5s1QyDoxPdA5f7aa3b-Up8TY-HOFBTq4r7dBsEukRGqlLZmf4bw2wr_n8fiBobrBSHMGd_HTGSnUWzeKHKDn4JqdRVOFEtV31SuN2wVAp8jzyXU77zBg3Wv9Pw1TlhbQYksvR64MgEkY1/s1600-h/SDC10452.JPG"><img style="CLEAR: both; FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5s1QyDoxPdA5f7aa3b-Up8TY-HOFBTq4r7dBsEukRGqlLZmf4bw2wr_n8fiBobrBSHMGd_HTGSnUWzeKHKDn4JqdRVOFEtV31SuN2wVAp8jzyXU77zBg3Wv9Pw1TlhbQYksvR64MgEkY1/s320/SDC10452.JPG" border="0" /></a>lls, whilst the rest is painted dark peach, the floor also had broken and chipped vinyl tiles on it and there was an antique electric shower on the wall. To get this shower to work you had to turn it on to full power and then turn the cold tap on in the sink to make the thing warm. What taste they had back then!! It had polystyrene tiles on the ceiling and the room would smell of damp and nicotine when ever you showered. Anyhow as we are getting a new kitchen afer the summer and the bathroom which also leaks is above thought it might be a good idea to replace it. This is how it looked just after dad had started the work (forgot to take it at the start!)</div><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEge8xVw1EWKP3R7fdNSFHYUbbwGXDBgdOXxl8Ejo7khYQwF8x7RStOhE78AppVHiV056l4WiyVDGIvLitoJPZNGoMY3CIS081PlugDw_AidgcsLU973QbBxMUmjQauZ08l25w484VMGSPSb/s1600-h/SDC10453.JPG"><img style="CLEAR: both; FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEge8xVw1EWKP3R7fdNSFHYUbbwGXDBgdOXxl8Ejo7khYQwF8x7RStOhE78AppVHiV056l4WiyVDGIvLitoJPZNGoMY3CIS081PlugDw_AidgcsLU973QbBxMUmjQauZ08l25w484VMGSPSb/s320/SDC10453.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div>I will post pics when it is all finished. So far dad has removed all the tiles filled all the holes painted the ceiling and the wall on the right. I chose a lilac colour for the wall and am going to have plain white tiles with a silver swirly border tile above the bath line. I've not completely decideed what to do yet. The new bath suite is white with shell edging to it. All looks good so far</div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi07LKMrmlSH764oq0OsbQObFcWmhG2DW3YwwlqVGAhqphgFIF7UL_UIibZIz7fC_qN8MJKZMS2_KAKsqRBHvPlWw33-R-u5mDb57ydEX7Hz8Qvyns0qhtUyzbPxpuO9tDXMa7pOjtB6-Sd/s1600-h/SDC10455.JPG"><img style="CLEAR: both; FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi07LKMrmlSH764oq0OsbQObFcWmhG2DW3YwwlqVGAhqphgFIF7UL_UIibZIz7fC_qN8MJKZMS2_KAKsqRBHvPlWw33-R-u5mDb57ydEX7Hz8Qvyns0qhtUyzbPxpuO9tDXMa7pOjtB6-Sd/s320/SDC10455.JPG" border="0" /></a> </div><div></div><div><br />Whilst dad has been doing that I've managed to fit in a little crafting. That gave me hope. Tried a different one and it worked! so when I get bored of the cakes i can try that instead. I've also been asked if I can make a knitted ice cream so am off to try that in a while.<br /><div></div></div>juliejdavieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16594068408692927100noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1443207871736708811.post-73158715393803598352009-05-16T11:12:00.000-07:002009-05-17T01:24:45.850-07:00Their crafting and mineWell what a day we've had here! The boys asked if they could do some crafting (thanks glueing and sticking to you and me!), so when Oscar went to bed for a nap out came the glue and scissors. We decided to make some abstact pictures by cutting up pieces of paper into pointy triangles and glueing them onto a contrasting colour with the pointy ends inwards and here's the results<br /><div><div><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5336487126136547554" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlqoXmKprr8Ue9cIGl43H7V9Jk97w4ZG223t7ED9VGDar2a-74_yzPgbBReu2aYtCopb8q_gQOfnh-1py2dQYehp4hSGQxwhtfW38PggLH5B64egvgP3WqM6hscS74OMRDBM5SALghaWu8/s320/SDC10433.JPG" border="0" /></div><div>This one is Lewis' he had an amount of assistance but he decided the colour combinations and where to stick them.</div><br /><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5336487576633766674" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrsrhNISBSPmZr1h3XGubZoS0Vqy2t3cxB5jinx5ksYGh2W49n_RxxgCuS4WlmGG0e1uBTF-7jnW5qAXMV9WYVGv_9ILdjGfLNOpQ-N0KlQobxADvIWzq2uj-s9xZIdNT6AcY3G-VRxlF4/s320/SDC10434.JPG" border="0" /></div></div></div><div>This one is Jason's who did most of it by himself. It started out okay, got Jason to school and check with his friend's mum that it was still alright for him to go to tea. Got to the preschool to drop Lewis off and thought I can hear someone's phone ringing it sound like mine, bugger it's mine. By the time I'd found it the call had ended no message left and I didn't recognise the number. Left Lewis and his buns at school got out the door and heard the phone again still didn't get to it in time, so decide to phone it back, it was Jason's school. Wonder what they want so thought I'd better go back I wasn't far from there.<br /> Now what I must mention at this stage is that we'd walked into school this morning which is about 1.5 miles away so I was rather out of puff as I'd rushed to the school. By the time I got tere I was very red faced and out of breath. What I should also say here is that Jason had woken up yesterday morning with a gunky eye, which he'd rubbed clear, as a result his eye ball looked very red, so I thought leave it til the morning see what happens don't think he's got an infection as the eye wasn't weeping and he wasn't rubbing it or complaining about it. When he got up his eye looked loads better and he still wasn't complaining so sent him to school.<br /> The receptionist said he got conjunctivitis so has got to see a doctor and must be taken home cand can't come back til it's cleared up AAAAAARRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHH. Did they bother asking him the routine questions no. Rushed him down to the doctors thinking got to cancel his outing got a hospital appointment for myself what am I to do. Fortunately my mum and dad rescued me again and came down to help. Got him into the doctors pretty quick and guess what no eye infection.<br /> Brought him home by now it nearly half past 11 and I have to collect Lewis at 1215. I then phoned the school amongst other calls I'd recieved told them he was ok they said oh well he can come back then! I told them no I would be keeping him at hime fo the rest of the day as they had found it necessary to send him home. I wouldn't mind but the person who said he'd got it isn't a medical person, as they would have asked those simple questions, but was leaving to go on a school trip all dressed in a skimpy top and shorts!<br /> Once I'd collected Lewis things did become a lot less hectic and my hospital appointment was ok. Thank you for letting me rant and even more so if you got to the end of this I'm off now to do some crafting whilst watching Ashes to Ashes.juliejdavieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16594068408692927100noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1443207871736708811.post-31094792580610850302009-05-10T12:24:00.000-07:002009-05-10T12:36:32.007-07:00cakes and bunsFollowing my foray into creating knitted cakes I've become a little bit obsessive about it. Can't wait to start knitting during the day, spend alot a time looking at cakes in the window of the local bakers shop ( is there a song about that??!) which really doesn't help my trying to lose wait campaign, all in the aid of trying to see if I can recreate the cakes by knitting them. I've had a number of ideas but need to get them knitted before I give the game away.<br /><br /><div><div>I have made 5 currant buns for the preschool, one of the teachers there thought it was abit spooky as she'd only been looking at the ones for sale on a well known auction site the day before when i walked in with the one I'd done. She did think mine where better though!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSIWZiJrpIrNxdNnCmTYa_AdNjA3V-fXiXand7Smt6TKj9S3P3QW4q8AbL8QnL2Vc4_BdyNi2MNpJcFr1zolE1muJiobGxwVCAQk1d7pw1cxuXwisYEsQwt-jwKaCOPBiPXYGXj8OJTzKP/s1600-h/SDC10419.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5334280487871150162" style="WIDTH: 316px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSIWZiJrpIrNxdNnCmTYa_AdNjA3V-fXiXand7Smt6TKj9S3P3QW4q8AbL8QnL2Vc4_BdyNi2MNpJcFr1zolE1muJiobGxwVCAQk1d7pw1cxuXwisYEsQwt-jwKaCOPBiPXYGXj8OJTzKP/s320/SDC10419.JPG" border="0" /></a></div><div>Hopefully I will get enough time to make some to sell on MISI what do you think? After reading through many patterns most of which used double pointed needles I decided to have a go at designing my own, and here they are.<br /><div><div><div><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5331679380402465154" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 265px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 188px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfiYQUD_TfBa4svFHeFI9SmXpd-nTRrDmccwCd2oxo33-qsb5sbP7a2bc8qDsPuSJLBHgdCWa3TCkZas-BWSoBFYkbJmcX9H_7Tdc3Kqd_8wnksrUqj6_1vE8iTwIDVobvXwB5sYsDFQDw/s320/SDC10407.JPG" border="0" /></div><div>This one is a chocolate fairy cake/cup cake with chocolate chips in. I didn't like the way the paper case was knitted onto the cake so went on to make this one.</div><br /><div></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5331680328218748050" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7LJabEBxdtpgfr5kM4vrnkZUj7Yo2qYPFRJSeocbekn0clWbAGB-FGjSZIWVEwdopEDP63aeDlbbAKf2IgV4iT8niHeN-UhQt41-W1eq8f_s0c74IZnd8rmaI6lJmz4cDbaWlUZwNVqMc/s320/SDC10405.JPG" border="0" />This is a standard iced cake with sprinkles on the top. The cake can now be removed from the paper case which I think is more realistic. However I'm still not completely happy with the designs so am now working on another on with more icing and stuffed in a different way.</div><div> This shows them side on just to illustrate the differences.</div><br /><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5331681096267734082" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwpiXTKebpVGu1TBGBnVP0PGcF5VXlu2k0cn07l9jTABCg4R-TYR8Th4OQS9luERVx8nU3zu8j43lzI97gMRHfahDwzFRYkqLEpEvN9pxW62CgVQ8lmvlg75okX9hX1pf5pn4ut3q1BTLm/s320/SDC10409.JPG" border="0" />So what do we all think then? Jason went to a friends to play i thought great I'll get loads done YEAH RIGHT. Managed to start by blowing up the hoover so had to get a new one. It's good though has alot of suction and what I thought were clean floors obviously weren't.<br /> Spent the rest of the morning cutting the grass makes the garden look tidier. Kealey came round for a cuppa. That was nice. We managed to break the garden seat, which we were sitting, whilst we were admiring the views( well next doors twentysomething son!!!). Neither of us were hurt but we did have a laugh!<br /> Homemade pizza for tea and early to bed for three tired little boys.juliejdavieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16594068408692927100noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1443207871736708811.post-21909553871401782292009-04-30T11:35:00.000-07:002009-04-30T11:45:41.203-07:00the usual suspectsHaven't been up to much these last few days still recovering from the weekend. Jason took lots of my old toys and books into school yesterday as they are learning about the toys that we as parents and the grandparents used to play with. He took perfection downfall and connect four now I am beginning to show my age! At then end of school his teacher came out to say that during breaktime he'd managed to sustain a rope burn around his neck! The long and short of it all was two boys who were a problem in year R decided to try and capture Jason with a rope and in the process caused the burn. Ok they owned up and Jason was that hurt also Iwas told by the teacher and not left guessing, what upset me was that these two little ********* only lost a playing as punishment! I know that there's not alot that the schools can do but the lost of a 15 minute break for what could have been a very serious incident AAARRRRRGGGGGGH.<br /> Did a search for a knitting pattern earlier and its selling on ebay for 27 pounds!!! so am keeping an eye on that.<br />Anyhow have made three golf club covers just need to make the pompoms for them and have decided to have a go at making some knitted cakes. Will take some photos to post when they're done.juliejdavieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16594068408692927100noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1443207871736708811.post-71536058523942009002009-04-27T10:53:00.000-07:002009-04-27T11:31:29.353-07:00jens weddingThe boys and I spent the weekend back in Luton for one of my niece's wedding. What fun we had getting there! Someone thought that it would be a good idea to leave Pompie at 315pm when Jason finished school, what a mistake!!!. Everyone warned me but no thought I knew better! Whta normally takes just over 1and 1/2 hours took well over three hours, I don't think that we did more than 10mph all the way round the M25. Well at least the boys went to bed late and I thought that at least they will get up late WRONG!!! They were still up at their usual half past 6. <div><div><div><div><div><div><div><br /><div>The wedding itself was lovely and at least the boys behaved themselves during the service. When Jason was one, we went to a wedding in the same church and when they got to the bit about speak now etc and it was silent he decided to release some wind very loudly that was it the adults all around(and you know who you are) just fell about laughing!</div><br /><div></div><div></div><div>I thought they (my boys) looked very smart and here they are</div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvI6stSLqalTCi7dbnY2N0DZf-WdbjabfC2-nNFxGIGnOMyytHgFPMMAjArkNppQWZViXqIxc5_cD-huq2NJvHimpIhpRTe2exEvQaWNPjngg9ukdH7HzttTPjhWHICeHyC7nkp94M2-4f/s1600-h/SDC10382.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5329433073470502978" style="WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvI6stSLqalTCi7dbnY2N0DZf-WdbjabfC2-nNFxGIGnOMyytHgFPMMAjArkNppQWZViXqIxc5_cD-huq2NJvHimpIhpRTe2exEvQaWNPjngg9ukdH7HzttTPjhWHICeHyC7nkp94M2-4f/s320/SDC10382.JPG" border="0" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhb360F1fqDrxw_KY5poouncHy2aFKXbiFjMmiguJ4me2ggucKVqtGKiEV7zRAuiT5G3wLkmqVxNTORME5rseD6yw71JeiDrWGrjD4WMY35pjJRGsMXahmQBY6JakZ5skSw28TU4EqwUq-7/s1600-h/SDC10383.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5329433265926417890" style="WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhb360F1fqDrxw_KY5poouncHy2aFKXbiFjMmiguJ4me2ggucKVqtGKiEV7zRAuiT5G3wLkmqVxNTORME5rseD6yw71JeiDrWGrjD4WMY35pjJRGsMXahmQBY6JakZ5skSw28TU4EqwUq-7/s320/SDC10383.JPG" border="0" /></a></div><br /><div></div><div>The bride looked fantastic in her dress. At least i was able to get half hours knitting done this afternoon thanks to southern electric. We had a four and1/2 hour power cut fortunately they got it back on in time for me to get dinner ready.<br /> I won't be posting anything for the next few days as we are going away to a wedding but I will take photos if i remember the camera and post some on here.
