the usual suspects

Haven't been up to much these last few days still recovering from the weekend. Jason took lots of my old toys and books into school yesterday as they are learning about the toys that we as parents and the grandparents used to play with. He took perfection downfall and connect four now I am beginning to show my age! At then end of school his teacher came out to say that during breaktime he'd managed to sustain a rope burn around his neck! The long and short of it all was two boys who were a problem in year R decided to try and capture Jason with a rope and in the process caused the burn. Ok they owned up and Jason was that hurt also Iwas told by the teacher and not left guessing, what upset me was that these two little ********* only lost a playing as punishment! I know that there's not alot that the schools can do but the lost of a 15 minute break for what could have been a very serious incident AAARRRRRGGGGGGH.
Did a search for a knitting pattern earlier and its selling on ebay for 27 pounds!!! so am keeping an eye on that.
Anyhow have made three golf club covers just need to make the pompoms for them and have decided to have a go at making some knitted cakes. Will take some photos to post when they're done.

jens wedding

The boys and I spent the weekend back in Luton for one of my niece's wedding. What fun we had getting there! Someone thought that it would be a good idea to leave Pompie at 315pm when Jason finished school, what a mistake!!!. Everyone warned me but no thought I knew better! Whta normally takes just over 1and 1/2 hours took well over three hours, I don't think that we did more than 10mph all the way round the M25. Well at least the boys went to bed late and I thought that at least they will get up late WRONG!!! They were still up at their usual half past 6.

The wedding itself was lovely and at least the boys behaved themselves during the service. When Jason was one, we went to a wedding in the same church and when they got to the bit about speak now etc and it was silent he decided to release some wind very loudly that was it the adults all around(and you know who you are) just fell about laughing!

I thought they (my boys) looked very smart and here they are

The bride looked fantastic in her dress. They were very lucky with the weather cold wind but sunny. Here they areManaged to get a sneaky pic of the boys and my new car eeerrr i mean the wedding car

Then onto the reception at the sculpture gallery in Woburn Abbey. The boys got party bags to keep them quiet during the meal. On of the items was a note book with an animal on the front that had large googley eyes and a pair of sunglasses. We had great fun with them!

This Jason

and this is Lewis.

They also got a flexible ruler which they decided was a bracelet except for Oscar who thought it was great fun to wear it on his head The next day Lewis decided that when he grows up he wants to be a rockstar.

I can't imagine why!!

Sunday was spent playing in the garden at Grandma's and travelling back as we were all very sleepy people

just to let you know

I've finished the tidying i was doing it only took four days to do and three minutes for them to undo it! At least i was able to get half hours knitting done this afternoon thanks to southern electric. We had a four and1/2 hour power cut fortunately they got it back on in time for me to get dinner ready.
I won't be posting anything for the next few days as we are going away to a wedding but I will take photos if i remember the camera and post some on here. I'm now off to craft.

Wednesday, 22 April 2009

Why is it that everyday I set out with a list of things I want to get do and yet I never achieve it? I've been trying to tidy up (i know if the craft world what a waste of time this is!) the boys bedroom for the last few days and i'm still doing it. How hard can it be to be organised? I was still baking at 80'clock. I've made some lovely banana and nut muffins thought. I did manage to finish a pair of booties they are meant to be giraffe one what do you think?

I'm not convinced yet!
I've also managed to take pics of the items i am swapping they are pin cushions the watch one can be worn like a watch. I have one and find it most useful - save putting the pins in your teeth!

This is a batternburg cake, what do you think?
My lastest project is golf club covers then i'm goint to knit some cup cakes that should be a laugh!
Managed a complete outfit again today for blue day, tomorrow is gold! Think that might be difficult.

Green Day and snowflakes

Today began much like all the days in this house MAYHEM!!

Jason guessed that today was green day, managed a whole outfit and matching jewellery. Recieved a few complements as well! Thank you Hennie for this idea. I even managed to coordinate my music to fit in with the green theme, of course it had to be Green Day.

Had to take Oscar to the doctors as he's been having a green day too ( out of his ears!!)

I did have a suprise when the postie came my MISI swap arrived it was from jai jai - whose shop can be found on MISI some beautiful hand beaded snowflakes. I will be putting these away for later in the year and when they come out Iwill remember the swap and how I enjoyed it.
Off now to find out what the colour for tomorrow is. Might even try to coordinate the kids clothes as well!

Monday, 20 April 2009

Not much going on here. Woke up and the sun was shining so decided to walk the mile and half to school ( and then back again!) Spent most of the day tidying up toys left out from easter holidays. That and explaining to people why i only have two nails painted and each one of them a diiferent shade of red!
Tomorrows colour is green.
Hopefully i'll feel more inclined to finish off the tidying and get crafting

The colour purple

I've been taking part (unsuccessfully) in a game that some of us are playing on misi the colour is..
Yesterday we had to wear the colour pink. I really struggled with this the only pinkthings i own are a pair of socks with hearts on which have been residing in the bedroom bin for the last few days! I very nearly had to get them out to wear. However i did manage to find i thin light weight pair at the bottom of the draw.
Today's colout is purple. Thank goodness for that a much better choice. Started the day by wearing my purple little Miss. Naughty dressing gown, got dressed with a purple top and even put on earrings to match. Then guess what i found a necklace with a pink faberge style egg doh! could have worn that yesterday. Will go to bed with a purple nightie on! I think the colour tomorrow is either red or green will have to check.
This set me off thinking about cakes( not sure why) so have spent most of the day hunting down a pattern that i like. After may hours searching i found some. When i've done some i'll put the picture on here. Thought they would make good teacher pressies.
Well i'm off now to undo the knitting i did last night as i don't like the results. Got to get it done as it's for the swap!

The rest of the day

The rest of today disappeared without me getting very far. I did manage to take some photos of three pairs of booties that i made over Easter.

These are supposed to look like tigers what do you think?

I made these ballet style ones because i don't get to make girly things very often.

These are meant to be like an elf's shoe might need to work on that!
I'm now off to try and do what i was supposed to do last night!!

is it really only 2pm?

Well i never managed to get anything done last night as i spent most of it in the craft forum of www.misi.co.uk

The reason for this? was a particular thread that was taking place it was rather funny. It is still making me chuckle even now! As a result not only did I not do anything but ended up going to bed much later than planned but worth it!

If you want to have a laugh read the thread titled i nearlt had heart failure today...

Been feeling a little guilty too, as Lewis (the middleone) went to his first party today on his own. Seems to have thoroughly enjoyed himself. The two elder ones are playing races with the whistle he got.

I'll be back later hopefully having finished some of me things

just starting out

This is my first attempt at blogging so please be patient with me.
Thought I'd better give a brief oultline of who I am. My name is Julie and I am a 37 year old mum of three young boys and wife to Dan who is in the Royal Navy.
I decided to start this blog as way of recording the things I do so that Dan can ( hopefully) read whats going on at home.

Today I took the boys to a local indoor play centre with a friend of mine. The kids loved it I however came away with the world's biggest headache. Some of the parent there just let their kids run riot, letting them scream at the top of their voices.

Oh yes forget to mention I do have a tendency to get cross about somethings!!!

The boys had a lovely afternoon playing together whilst i created a pair of shorts from a school pair of trousers and made a pe bag for the the middle one ready for when he starts school in September.

Thats all for now going to finish off some items for my misi shop. I'll let you know how that goes tomorrow.
